Discovery project 2024

Introduction 

The 10th Generation Discovery project of CamEd International Business Club was held from Saturday the 03rd of February 2024 to the 04th of February 2024, at Chipat, Koh Kong province. With the help of the management team, three team leaders, Ms. Has Phanada as the project chair, and over 40 members of our club participated in the organization of this project. We want to assist children in kindergarten in the Chi Pat Community with this project. Additionally, it offers our members an opportunity to learn more about community life. Along with that, the members who took part had the opportunity to unwind and enjoy a home away from home with the club in Koh Kong, which helped us become closer as a team. 

Purpose

During this visit, we aim to;

• Learn about the life live in a countryside such as Chi Pat 

• Provide children with a suitable learning environment

• Provide children the knowledge about hygiene and other general knowledge

• Relax with nature 

Trip Summary 

All of the participants gathered at the school on Saturday at 4:30 am, and by 5:15 am, we departed for Chi Pat, a four-hour drive away. At 7 am in the morning, we stop for breakfast and then head straight to the village. To get to the community, we have to use the ferry to get to the opposite side. After packing and eating lunch, we went to the kindergarten in Chi Pat to greet the kids. With the assistance of the local teacher, we arrived at 1 am, met the kids, and got right into our activity. We begin by extending our greetings to the children, parents, and teacher. Following that, we begin teaching the kids the proper salute and hand-washing routine. Lastly, we provide the kids with their study materials, toys, and other presents. Following the school dismissal, our members travel to the neighboring waterfall to unwind and enjoy themselves. We all agreed after a while to return to the rest house at five o'clock. Together, we had dinner and engaged in some bonding exercises to cap off the day.   

On the second day of the trip, we all had breakfast together before exploring the village. Around 11 am, our team set out for Kaong Kang beach to try the local cuisine and environment. We arrived at 1:30 a.m. and got to stroll and explore the land, view, sea, and food with our  fellow members. We completed the trip around 5 pm, when we boarded the bus and returned to Phnom Penh. 

Reflections

    We arrived safely at home and resumed our normal lives the following day. The trip was an eye-opening experience for all members. Everyone felt satisfied and proud after the trip since we knew we had accomplished our goal of helping society while also spending time bonding with our team mates. To say it was enjoyable is an understatement; it was unforgettable and mind-blowing to understand how the project chair, team leaders, management team, and advisers were able to generate a concept, plan it, and execute it flawlessly. Although there were some difficulties, we were able to complete the task, and we are grateful to all of the members who were able to participate and make it enjoyable and unforgettable.
