Opening remark by Mrs. Ny Morokot
Mrs. Ny Morokot commenced the ceremony by expressing gratitude to our distinguished speakers and esteemed sponsors. After that she questioned the audience about our topic and gave some explanation regarding the evolution of enterprise from small to large scale enterprise.
Furthermore, she also spoke about the origin of ‘’CIBC”. She doesn’t win a competition but she wons her own missions. She also came up with three significant lessons that it's necessary to accept rejection because there aren't any two individuals who can think alike, set a clear
well-defined objective for yourself and to see future results, consistency is required.
Speaker 1 - Mr. Te Tekheng
The CEO of Burn x Flash that is well known as Mr. Lee xin will be presenting under the topic of “ Blessing in Disguise ” accompanied by the slogan” “Don’t let a dream be just a dream”. He started off by describing that in recent years, the global eSports industry has experienced tremendous growth, captivating audiences and generating significant revenues. However, in Cambodian society, eSports has largely been unsupported, with approximately 90% of the population remaining unaware of its potential and significance. Mr. Lee Xin, a prominent figure in the Cambodian eSports community, has been at the forefront of efforts to elevate the status of eSports in the country. Despite facing challenges such as the absence of stable income and an official career path for eSports players in Cambodia, Mr. Lee Xin remains steadfast in his mission to bring recognition and success to the industry. After all his hard work in the eSports industry his team started to secure sponsorships that will provide financial support for players and contribute to the overall growth of the industry. Moreover, he aims to capitalize on the popularity of eSports by selling team merchandise such as jerseys and promoting other branded products. This not only serves as a revenue stream but also contributes to building a strong fan base and identity. Finally he mentioned that we need to be flexible even if we could be a professional player for a short term but we need to maintain our ability and go through anything like being our own manager or coaches. And also remember to have clear goals and visions along with consistency and always believe in yourself to become successful.
Speaker 2 - Mr. Cheng Sopheak
After that Mr Cheng Sopheak well known as Mr. Rean thort will give a speech regarding the topic of “Coding your Business with Technology '' accompanied by the slogan “adapting to the future opportunities’’. He began with the proliferation of technology like smartphones that has fundamentally transformed the lifestyle of Cambodian teenagers. They are often seen engrossed in their smartphones, relying on these devices for communication, entertainment, and information. Moreover, he said most people fail to manage their expenses and do not know how to invest. And he only cares about the human resources rather than his competitor which means he needs to be well planned and make himself unique to gain sponsorships from the biggest company in Cambodia not just a simple video content. On the other hand he is telling the audience to always follow the trend in terms of technology and A.I such as customer relationship management (CRM), ChatGPT, chat bot on social media platforms. In Cambodia we start to develop the business along with technology and they are strong at using software such as live video, boost page, using a microphone or webcam but really weak at hardware. Nowadays we have seen some restaurants go along with technology that uses QR code to scan for menus… Last but not least, technology has both pros and cons that will face a cyber attack such as hacking issues by anonymous hackers. He also mentioned that verifying a name on social media is significant to protect his identity for bad purposes by fake account users. To sum up his speech he hoped that after listening to his speech the audience could think of a new technology to apply in Cambodia.
Break and refreshment
A half-hour break, provided by our sponsors, allowed all speakers, attendees, and members to unwind and have fun with food, beverages, and games after the second speaker's talk concluded.
Speaker 3 - Mr. Ngoun Sokpisal
After coming back from a break our last speaker Mr. Ngoun Sokpisal will deliver his insights on the topic of “Gilding the Lily” accompanied by the slogan “Success is no accident, It is passion and dedication”. He began by introducing himself and stating that in 2014–2015, he graduated from both IFL and CamED business school. He then spent three years working for an audit firm. Following that, he made the decision to pursue his master's degree major in entrepreneurship and innovation overseas in Australia. He worked with GGEAR group and started a company called Phom Digital once he returned. He wants to make five main points known to the audience. First, define the criteria for your achievement by defining what success is. For example, he sets up a system for the business and ensures that sales meet targets. He also doesn't care about business losses; instead, he is only concerned with the number of users of his application, "Phum Aircon." He adopted WhatsApp's business model, which resulted in losses for the company's first eight years before it grew to become the largest in the world. The focus on stabilizing and improving the business is the second important factor. Focus until we see our dreams come true. Furthermore, we shouldn't lose business too frequently because doing so could cause your business partner to lose faith in us. The third important factor is numbers, which are used in statistics and decision-making related to budge
plans, employee absenteeism rates, marketing budget plans, leasing costs, wage decisions, and the choice to hire brand ambassadors for your business. The fourth essential component is soft skills, which are crucial for business owners and include communication, leadership, and the ability to gauge the thinking of others. The last key point is sales, where he stated that if you know sales, any organization may hire you; sadly, employees in Cambodia aren't very good at selling, for example. With the exception of two salespeople from Korea and England, GGEAR's 798 members are exclusively from Cambodia. Last but not least, he takes great pride in the fact that his business pays all state taxes. In conclusion, he exhorts the audience to begin volunteering and interning in order to improve their experience and long-term goals.
Performance by Ms. Gabbie Elle
Following the completion of each speaker's speech, we were treated to a live performance by the talented singer-songwriter Ms. Gabbie Elle, who performed two English classics, "Love Story" and "Last Christmas," in addition to one of her own compositions, "Happy Place."
