Mini Forum 2022: Digital Branding And Employability

    The 2022 mini forum was held under the theme of “Digital branding and employability”. The event was accurately planned and organized by CamEd International Business Club (CIBC) and led by Ms. Ly Porheak as the project chair. The mini forum this year was held on 28th August 2022 from 1:30-4:30 PM which took place in the Luca Pacioli room located in CamEd Business school. Last but not least, we had the privilege of having two generous speakers from the Movers Programme with expertise and success in their life's work including:

1. Mr. Sok Saksisovutha: Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s Communication officer

2. Mr. Thav Songhour: Ambassador Community Engagement Manager

  1. The Purpose 

Mini forum 2022 is aim to:

  • To give the audience a knowledge of branding, how to identify yourself or brand, how to be unique and expressed 

  • To know how to use LinkedIn and some useful functions also clarify yourself on digital media for a job

  1. Activities 

    After all of our distinguished speakers, visitors, and club members had arrived and taken their seats, our event got underway at precisely 1:30 PM, with the Cambodian national assembly for the first 10 minutes. Then Ms. Ly Porheak came to presented right on the podium as the officially opening remark. Next was part of our two prominent speakers to provide the audience with their inspirational remarks.

  1. First speaker: Mr. Sok Saksisovutha, Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s Communication officer, presenting under the topic "Ability is the Opportunity '' motto as "Know yourself know your future". His speech started at 1:50-2:25 PM. He opened by sharing a few experiences about this personality, explaining how to describe the brand and how the brand is going to look like to the other as well as give examples of brand identity. He went on by telling how to represent the brand or showing commitment to the audience. Next he also explained the graph of (Talent/skill, Fun and demand) for people to find themselves and then he let people in the room did some activities by letting the audience joined in a group of three people under the question what is your professional brand? And write down three words your friend describes you and three words you want to impress. After the activities took 10 minutes, he had to move on and talked about the last point: having a good personal connection and reference which provide us many advantages and also the key term of getting a job.

  2. Second speaker: Mr. Thav Songhour, Ambassador Community Engagement Manager, is a person who is going to present under the topic ​​ “Draw before paint” with the slogan “A clear direction leads to a better destination”. After the first speaker finished his presentation, second speaker started to speak at 2:25-3:00 PM. He started by letting the visitor search their name in google in order to see what their name looks like in the media. Then once again he explained more details in personal branding for the listener and told why digital branding related to job employability? Next he showed us how important LinkedIn is and some functions of this website. Moreover, he also advised us to benefit from this site by making a personal connection or trying to show ourselves by putting experience, reference and commitment to your job. At the end of his presentation he gave all listeners to write down their bio followed by some questions in the slide. 

  • Break and Refreshments

    After all, the two speakers finished their speech. It’s 3:00 PM which was a relaxing time for a break and refreshment. The event will be starting again at 3:15 PM , so we had 15 minutes break, which was enough time for the speakers, audiences and team members went to the bathroom and had some delicious Khmer desserts which provided by CIBC. Before coming back to the event there was a QR code for the audience to scan to get the E-certificate from Movers.

  • Q & A (Panel Discussion):  

The panel discussion part went from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM which was held by our generous moderator, Ms. Ngin Mischel. She had picked up the most likely question and tried to combine similar questions together from the anonymous one which was asked by the guide in order to deliver to both our speaker and she also added some details on a few questions. However, owing to the limited time, only a few questions could be answered. 

  • Kahoot time:

After all the knowledge sessions, the CIBC wanted to play a kahoot to claim and survey the guide how much they have learned about this event in eight questions and the three winners would get a lovely reward from the club. 

  • Closing remark 

By inviting Mrs. Ny Morokot, the founder of CamEd International Business Club, started a speech and concludes with a closing remark. But before the end of the event, our founder had a small speech talking about the history of CIBC and some contents that related to the question that has been asked anonymously by the audiences. 

3. Conclusion:

    The mini forum 2022 was a first great success for CIBC ninth generation. Furthermore, the event gave an opportunity to people to learn new things and know how to identify themselves as well as get a chance to listen to speakers' experience to gain new knowledge which is valuable and a golden time. 

    In conclusion, We would like to show our respect and appreciation to our generous audiences that have spent their valuable time joining and participating in our event. In addition, we also want to congratulate and appreciate the workflow that happened as we had planned which was organized by: The Co-Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Advisers, Project chair, Team Leaders and members from all departments. This wonderful event allowed us to grab a lot of new experiences and knowledges even more. The event brought our members a chance to work closer to each other and well together.
