Discover Project

  1. Introduction
CamEd International Business Club just completed a project to Siem Reap for two nights and three days on the 14th, 15th and 16th of January, 2022. This project was organized by a team of seven core members, along with Mr. Liang Poly as a project chair, 3 Team Leaders, and approximately over 30 participants in our club. Furthermore, this project aims to provide students in rural areas with study materials as well as basic general knowledge on how to maintain the hygiene factors during the pandemic. On top of that, we also focused on gaining a first-hand experience to learn more about Cambodian culture by spending a night at homestay in an urban area.
        II.         Purposes

    •        To contribute back to the society
    •        To support local tourism and community
    •        To provide children with a suitable learning environment
    •        To raise awareness regarding environmental issues
    •        To experience the differences in youthfulness outside of the city
      III.         Activities
We left Phnom Penh at 5 a.m. on the first day and arrived at Bakong My Village to have lunch at 1 p.m. After that, we departed to Bakong temple to have our pictures taken as a whole club. Then, we finally departed to homestay in the evening. To get to the house, we had to travel a considerable distance until we reached; it was exhausting, but everyone enjoyed the experience. Participants and organizers were split into two groups for two different houses as the organizers had planned. Following that, we settled in and got ready for dinner. To explain, we all participated in preparing the dinner by preparing ingredients, making actual dishes, as well as cleaning everything up. Finally, the night has reached, we had some quality time together by playing some games to make our bond even stronger than it already is.
Now that the second day had reached, we departed from the homestay to Koh Srok primary school to donate some necessities. There were approximately more than 300 children from grades 1 through 6, and we separated them into several groups to teach them basic knowledge as well as general knowledge such as hand washing and having fun playing bonding activities together. Then, we distributed a gift bag to each student as well as the school. We returned to our lunch spot and rested for a while before embarking on our next adventure. We went back to have our lunch and rested for a bit to continue our next to watch a sunset at Bakheng temple. Although it was an exhausting journey after doing some charity in such a humid weather, they all got to smile once again after watching the sunset and having their photos taken. After that, we left to the city to stay at the hostel as it was quite late in the evening. Following that, everyone decided to go a small restaurant to support local businesses and eventually went back to the hostel in the middle of the night.
The third day is our final day, as we say our goodbyes to local owners. We first had breakfast at the hostel and checked out around 8:45 a.m. Then, we left to Angkor Wat Temple to enjoy the breeze of air and the view. Some of the participants also bought some souvenirs to bring back home as well. After that, we had some lunch and eventually departed from the site to come back home.

    IV.         Result

Finally, everyone arrived safely in Phnom Penh, and the project went off without a hitch, just as we had hoped. Last but not least, we, the CamEd International Business Club, would like to express our gratitude to all participants who spent three full days and two nights with us to make this project a success. Without everyone's help, the project would not have been possible.
