III. Activities
For the first day, we departed from Phnom Penh at 6am and
reached our destination at 1pm. We transferred our materials from the bus and
carefully onto the ferry to our homestay. We had to walk along way across the
sand to reach the house, it was tiring, but everyone was enjoying the
experience. Participants and organizers was divided into 2 groups for 2 house
that organizers have prepared. After that we settled down and prepared for the
BBQ night. There were people who cooked, grilled, and prepare the side dishes.
We were having fun until 10pm and we stopped as we prepared the materials and
school supplies for tomorrow Charity.
For the second day, after having our breakfast, we took a
bike trip (1 bike for each person) to Jong Koh Primary School. There were 200
students ranging from grade 1 to grade 6 and we have divided into six team to
teach them about basic knowledge as well as general knowledge such as washing
their hand, and fun art crafts for them. Then we handed out a bag of gift for
each students and for the school as well. We went back to have our lunch and rested
for a bit to continue our next journey. In the afternoon, we rode to the
plantation area to plants 15 trees as a contribution. It was a nice experience
for everyone learning how to plant trees even though it was hot and dirty. We
went for a nice coffee at Rajobori resort as participants had a test of their
modern coffee and juice after 2 days of living like a local. At night we had
normal dinner which prepared by the house’s owner and we had the last gathering
for memory. We did a fun role play so everyone became creative and gather a few
local kids to watch us as well. Then, we made candle holders and wrote
appreciation messages to our CO-President and Vice President for their
contribution for the whole year. It was an unforgettable memory for everyone.
The third day is the last day as we bid farewell to the
house owners and local authority. After having lunch at Kratie, we proceeded
our journey home with memory and bond like we have never had before.
