Road Trip 2019

      I.         Introduction

On 16^_17^th of February, 2019, International Business Club just had a road trip to PREK KDART Resort which located in Kampot province for 1 night 2 days. This road trip was prepared by team organizers that composed of seven members which had Ms. Ham Damanit as project chair and it consisted of 32 participants including both IBC members and CamEd students. Moreover, this road trip aimed to provide students in rural area some study materials and basic general knowledge regarding to how to clean their hands properly and clean their environment; in order to take part in improving education system in Cambodia.

    II.         Purposes

-To provide students at Oudom Meanchay School some knowledges about sanitation and how they should clean their hands, body and also keep the environment surrounding them cleaned.

-To distribute study materials and cleaning materials to students, teachers and the school.

-To provide members and CamEd students the experiences of charity work and social friendly act.

-To develop member’s team spirit, creativities, sense of responsibility and teamwork.

-To make members get more close to each other with bounding activities.

-To provide members a wonderful memory of each other’s and IBC before the term of 2018 end.

  III.         Activities

The first day of our road trip, both participants and organizers had prepared study materials for students in the local public school, Oudom Meanchey School, which reportedly shorted school’s materials for students, and also provided to local students a short study session and training about sanitation, safety in community, Khmer culture, and self-discipline. We also had small talks with the students in order to inspire and encourage them to try hard with their study to become Cambodia’s future powerful force and resources. After we completed our donation, we continued our journey to the next destination. Everyone was exhaust and hungry, but happier to be able to help those in need.

After a short journey, we finally arrived at our last destination of the day, PREK KDART Resort, and had a nice lunch together. After a few hours of relaxation and conversations, organizers prepared many awesome activities for participants to develop team spirit, self-confident, mindset, decision making, and make our trip more wonderful. It was a fruitful team bounding, though quite exhausted, our team members were able to enjoy themselves and get to know each other more. During the evening, we had a nice barbecue dinner while dancing under the bright moonlight of the mountain base. After that, a surprised event had come. we made a surprising birthday for one of our members, everyone was excited and it was an amazing time. Next surprise was bonfire and a beautiful candle lights. We sat around the fire, talking about our feeling of the trip and IBC, it was an emotional and memorable moment that we never had for the whole term. On the other hand, we also have a late night party after bonfire. It was an amazing and busy night for participants.

The sun was shining with fresh air from the hill, was in the morning of second day which began with a table full of breakfast and hot coffee that can make our participants felt relaxed. Before saying good bye to PREK KDART Resort and out of last night tents, organizers prepared a group photo to keep it as a memory. Then we continued our journey to ANLONG THOM tourist community, all participants were able to enjoy the cool water, wind, tiny fishes, monkeys and the green jungle. After our first tour, we arrived at our next tourist attraction, DONG PREK Park, where is enormous with many people and activities to do. It was lively and our crew’s spirits were also lifted. After lunch, everyone enjoyed various activities and swimming. Only at mid-afternoon would we be able to get on the bus and proceeded our returning journey home.   

 IV.         Result

Everyone arrived at Phnom Penh safe and sound and the trip has ended smoothly as what we expected. Last but not least, we, International Business Club would like to thank all participants who spent their valuable time with us for two full days and one night to make this road trip happened this year. Lastly, International Business Club never forget to thanks our supporting partner, CamEd Business School, who takes care of our club and always heavily supports every event of IBC. Without supporting partner and all participants, this amazing trip could not happen as our expectation.
