Activities
The forum
started with an opening remark that was presented by Mr. Kenneth Paul Charman,
and the first speaker Mr. Tov Meng who is the head of
sales of department of Cambodia Properties Limited (CPL) gave a speech about
how his company sustains until now. He shared the main four keys of the topic such
as Vision, Management, Division, and Encouragement and
Recruitment. Firstly, in Vision
point, he said that before entrepreneurs ran their own business, they should
have a vision of the company at least five years. Moreover, there are other
factors, like Company Target, Department Target, Teamwork Target and Personal
Target, assist in achieving the vision. For all of these targets, all the
workers in the company must know and understand about them. Secondly, Management, which needs to make both
employers and employees have trust in the system. To produce a good management
system, the company should Set Clear
Direction, Job Description, and Policies. Thirdly, Division and Encouragement, he focused on three elements: Fair, Transparency and Satisfaction
which agency gives the workers a Staff Appraisal (every 1 year or 3 months or 6
months) and Career Progression. Last but at least, the last point was Recruitment which depends on interviewing
and chose by five right: person, place, time, action, and result. Mr. Tov Meng
also included about 3Ps formula, which were Preparation, Persistence, and
Professional. He closed his speech by briefly mentioning about Loyalty Customer which is one of main
factor for keeping business to run longer.
As
Mr. Tov Meng finished giving the wonderful speech, we welcomed Mr.
Kea Borann who was the second speaker and is the CEO of AMK
Microfinance Institution Plc. His industrial field has running for many years
so as it is successful until today, he provided six points which they were the
keys of his company maintain the business to succeed. There were Capital, Good Human Resource, Product,
Service, Progress, and System. Among these points, he only focused on Good HR
that workers should have Passion, Committee and Integrity for your work and
company you worked for. He said, “Even
though the firm has a large amount of capital stock, yet does not use the human
resource effectively and efficiency, the firm still faces the problem and does
not run well.”
Finally, the last guest speaker of the event, Mrs.
Sam Linna, Founder and CEO of Ellesse Furniture, came to talk about the
strategies in her business for these two years. She pointed out seven elements
such as Capital, Goal, Standard, Branding, Uniqueness, Law, and Successful
Planning. She suggested that before starting up a company we have to make a budget plan first and keep reserve funds
for emergency situations in case the business faces any troubles during
progressing. After preparing the budget plan, entrepreneurs need to know what
kind of business they want to open, then set Vision and Mission for the company. Moreover, leader ought to divide a position and role for employees
properly because it will make both standards
of human resource and management. Most importantly, founder should make their
own branding for the product like
something easy for customer to notice (example: color, uniform, logo…) and uniqueness
of their brand. In order to run a sustainable business, businesspeople also
have to check the products whether it is
legal. The last point of her speech was Successful
Planning which she focused on the plan that she has taught her worker of
leadership for them to replace or reserve someone place in the future.
As
the last speaker had finished, we also had a Panel Discussion, moderated by Mr.
Thai Vantha (Jerry Thai), which was a question and answer session to give
opportunity to our participants to raise their doubtful questions regarding our
topic. Then, we had our project chair, Mr. Phoan Sopha, gave a thankful speech
to our guest speakers, audiences and sponsors. Finally, we gave certificates to
guest speakers and took pictures, then the forum ended with lucky draw session,
which gave many gifts to our participant.
