MSLG LUANDRY REPORT

MSLG is one of the Sun Lick Group (SL). SL laundry has established for 20 years in Cambodia, which is located in No.009, St. 371, Stoeung Meanchey Commune, Meanchey District, Phnom Penh. Prior the name of SL, the company name was GPSTNW, and currently, they are operating the other company named MSLG Laundry, which has run for nearly 2 years. SL is the biggest laundry in Cambodia, which has provided laundry service for hotel, apartment, and restaurant. Moreover, the company also supplies laundry equipment, chemical, linen and many other services relating to laundry industrial such as a technical consultant. As the economic growth, the demand for the laundry increases through emerging many huge hotels and other infrastructures, MSLG has the advantages of running the businesses because they have their own power station, which is cheap to supply energy such as power and steam. Laundry is called as a non-stop business because there is no holiday or vacation, which means that they have to work every day. According to Mr. Li, who is Malaysian manager in Cambodia, said MSLG has only one branch currently. Unlike the other home laundry businesses, MSLG is a commercial laundry, which needs more money for investment. MSLG needs less labor force in the operation process because all the machines are fully automatic and there are more than 16 people working in the MSLG factory, which is divided into three departments: operation, admin, and accounting.

Vision

MSLG will target more 14 hotels including the same line businesses. Similarly, MSLG wants to expand their hotel laundry business to hospital industrial, because the profit earned from the hospital laundry business is consistent and stable, whereas the income from operating hotel laundry is inconsistent, depending on the level of tourism. Additionally, the company is planning to create more sale and marketing teams in 2018. MSLG also expects to get number one in the top highest laundry in Cambodia. However, by the last two years, the company has been ranked in number fourth.

Mission

The mission of MSLG is to get more attention from people by creating more website, Facebook page and provide some promotion to the customers as well as create some activities to promote and motivate their staffs. MSLG is not only concern about their clients but also the environmental issue by reducing the amount of chemical pollution. Besides this, the company also launches a program called “Charity activity out of the business” in reflect to cooperate social responsibility (CSR) activity.

Success of the business

Before succeeded, MSLG had been lost for 6 months in order to get the attraction from customers by offering a special promotion, which was free of charge for 1 month to every client who uses any service of the company. Plus, the succeeding key of the company is that MSLG Laundry does not only focus on the customer service but they also concern about their staff’s satisfaction. According to Mr. Li's speech, all workers are his bosses and staffs are playing the main role in running a business because they are the people who earn the profit for the company. Meanwhile, MSLG always encourages their staffs by sharing the profit or offer the bonus and award to the outstanding employees. However, if the workers are not satisfied with their jobs, the company will face the bankruptcy or a loss. Besides from staff’s satisfaction, Mr. Li added that problem is also a key to success. “He likes problem because he can learn from it ” said Mr. Li.

Currently, MSLG are cooperating with 45 hotels that have rated from 3.5 stars to 5 stars and this amount will increase in the next future, said Miss Katy, the marketing manager. In the meantime, she also mentioned that the company also provides the customers with standard linen.
