Japanese auto maker Mazda is the third foreign car company that was brought to Cambodia by HGB group co., Ltd in 2013. Its first showroom is located on the corner of Russian Boulevard in Phnom Penh, and the second showroom, which was launched in 2015, is located along Monivong Boulevard. Within 3 years from 2013 to 2016, Mazda has become one of the most successful car company, which provide an experience of new technology and environmentally-friendly vehicles for Cambodian users. In order to fulfil the need of customers, Mazda offers a range of car models inclusive of Mazda 2, Mazda 3, Mazda 6, Mazda CX-5, CX-9, Mazda BT-50 etc. With astonishing design, advanced safety system and new Skyactiv technology, Mazda is a medium product that has becomes a choice for all drivers.

The vision of Mazda is to become the leading retail and wholesale distributor in Cambodian car market. Furthermore, the company wishes to develop in both human resources and new car market in Cambodia.

The mission of Mazda is to increase new car market and slowly minimise the number of used car in Cambodia. The company focuses conscientiously on providing benefit for both customers and employees. Mazda concerns about the drivers’ safety and after-sale service satisfaction, and also the welfare of their employee.  Mazda’s mission is also to help promoting environmentally-friendly driving as well as providing jobs for Cambodian people. Beside this, the company also involves in social responsibility in order to build customer confidence and brand image.

SUCCESS OF MAZDA

The success story of Mazda is built through its quality, service and price. The vehicles are of high quality with affordable price, which make Mazda a favourite car for Cambodian drivers. Additionally, Mazda offers excellent after-sale services including maintenance, regular checkup, replacement and many more.  The mechanics are fully equipped with diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to perform reliable servicing and repairing work for all type of Mazda vehicles. However, in order to be able to follow up with new technology invention, the company also provides training for their mechanics staff both in and outside the country to develop their skills and knowledge plus sharing those knowledge among the team. Beside from servicing the cars, Mazda also cares about their customers comfort. At Mazda showroom, customers are able to relax in the waiting lounge with internet access and massage chair with entertainment systems, so that they don’t feel like the wait is too long.  

According to Ms. Un Kanha, General Manager of Mazda, the salesperson at Mazda company is called a ‘Sale consultant’ because rather than persuading and pushing their sales to customers, a sale consultant stands as an adviser for their customers, answering their doubt and giving advice in choosing suitable and satisfied car for them.  Ms.Un Kanha continues that there are two difficulties that Mazda has faced. First is competing with the used car market in Cambodia. About 95% of all cars in Cambodia are second hand, and for many year buying used car has become so common for Cambodian people. This is a big concern for Mazda since not many people understand about the advantages of using new car. The second difficulty is to keep talented staff. As job market is challenging, Mazda has its own strategy in maintaining their staff by providing incentive for outstanding workers and understanding the need of each employee. Likewise, the company also involves in helping society by donating a certain percent of their profit to Red Cross, Kuntha Bopha hospital and other charity. In the future, Mazda hopes to open more showroom in some provinces such as Battambong, Siem Reap and Kompong Cham; moreover, the company wants to have a call center to follow up with their customers in order to provide the best care service.
