           Major Cineplex Group Public Co. Ltd. is the largest operator of movie theatres in Thailand. Combined with its subsidiary, EGV Entertainment, the company has 590 screens with 140000 seats around Thailand. It was brought to Cambodia in 2014 and was supported by the Cambodia mobile phone server and Communication Company, Cellcard, as the Naming sponsor for Cinema and Bowling. Its showroom is located at second floor of AEON mall. Within 2 years from 2014 to 2016, Major has become one of the most successful theatres which provides a comfortable place for people to relax after their work or study. In other to full fill the need of customers, Major offers the great showing rooms which have a bigger space, enjoyable chairs and technical screen that have many speakers behind it to make voice becomes more smoothly and clearly.

Vision

            The vision of Major is to become the biggest cinema in the world. Moreover, Company wishes to develop more locations at all malls in Cambodia.

Mission

            The mission of Major is zero complain. Company wants to provide the best service to all customers, if they get any complain from customers they will check all services to make sure that it won’t disturb customer’s feeling again.

Success of Major Cineplex

           

Major Cineplex has become the biggest cinema in Cambodia. To became, a successful theater, Major Cineplex has prepared their systems, both externally and internally, to be professional so that it can runs smoothly. Major Cineplex decorates its showroom with luxurious and unique design to make customers feel different and comfortable. There are 7 halls in total, including 4DX and VIP hall. Each hall has 2 emergency exits which is easy for people to escape when there is an emergency. Major Cineplex was the first movie theater that introduced the most luxurious VIP screen in Cambodia, with its features, private VIP lounge, bar, and reception area. The interior design of VIP hall is very modern and classy. The seating is arranged in pairs of padded leather armchairs with a wide center compartment. The specialty of the seat is flexibility, it can adjust 180 degree. Besides, there are 2 food courts which sell popcorn, hotdog and beverages for customers to enjoy eating while they are watching movie. The price of ticket is affordable and reasonable for Cambodian citizen. Major Cineplex offers promotion like buy one tickets get one free or buy one ticket get free drink in special occasions.

However, Major Cineplex also face many problems before becoming a successful cinema. According to Mr. Vanak, general manager of Major Cineplex, the biggest challenge for this entertainment industrial is teenagers’ behavior. Based on research and development department of Major Cineplex, Cambodian teenagers’ behavior have changed dramatically which leads entertainment industrials have difficulties to catch up with them. Another challenge for Major Cineplex is indirect competitors such as restaurant, clothes shops, accessary shops, which can attract their customers indirectly. In addition, in the future, Major Cineplex still hope to become the biggest theater in the world and serve customer with the best service.
